It’s that time of year: when we crafters cross our fingers that Santa and his elves put something crafty under our trees and in our stockings. By that, I also mean that we start dropping hints left and right to all of our favorite Santas about what we actually want and need.
It’s easy as a beginning crafter to put together a pretty extensive list of craft supplies and tools. But, what do you ask for when you’ve got enough stuff in your craft room to rival your local Joann’s, Michaels, or Hobby Lobby? The gift guide below is what I came up with to get you started thinking about your own Christmas list.
Holiday Gift Guide for Experienced Crafters
- Upgraded equipment. Maybe you’ve got an older generation Silhouette or Cricut and you’ve been eyeing a Cameo 4, Cameo Pro 4, or a Cricut Maker? Perhaps you are still using an iron for heat transfer materials, a good upgrade would be a heat press. Whatever older equipment you have, Christmas is the perfect time to ask for that upgrade.
- Travel craft supplies. Know a crafter who likes to craft on the road? Consider gifting them a smaller machine so they can always be crafting.
- A new craft and beginner supplies. If there is one thing that crafters are addicted to, it’s NEW CRAFTS! Especially for those that run a craft business, it’s nice to be able to do something crafty that isn’t related to the business or to add a new product line with your new machine. - Consumables. Crafters use a lot of materials. Gift the crafter in your life supplies like mats or machine blades.
- Crafty swag. From tee shirts to socks and bags, Etsy has plenty of goods to scream out that crafting is your thing! Here are a few of my favorites:

- Online classes. I think most crafters love learning something new. Whether it is craft business related, a new technique, or a whole new craft; online classes are convenient in today’s busy world.
I love that Skillshare has a large variety of classes to choose from – over 22,000 of them. They also sell gift cards in the form of monthly memberships. This means that the recipient would get unlimited access to all the classes for the number of months purchased.
While not as large as Skillshare, CreativeLive offers classes in their catalog that can’t be found anywhere else. They do not offer traditional gift cards, but they do offer a ‘Gift a Course’ program. Learn more at this link.
- Gift cards. Maybe the easiest gift to give the ‘crafter who has it all and then some’ is a gift card. Better yet, combine a crafty Etsy gift and put a gift card inside! Here are links straight to a few popular ones:
