It’s fall and that means football is back! If you don’t know, in the Spring the NFL implemented a “clear bag” only policy. This means that purses, totes, diaper bags, and backpacks are no longer allowed into the stadiums. Instead, game goers are limited to a 12 inch by 6 inch by 12 inch clear tote or a clutch no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Additionally, the SEC and other leagues are implementing similar policies. You can read the full NFL policy at this link.
So, it’s time to cash in on the NFL’s new rules by offering custom embellished clear bags made with your Cricut or Silhouette.
You’ll need:
- Adhesive vinyl
- Transfer tape or paper
- Clear bag no larger than 12″ by 6″ by 12″
Customizing the bags is really simple:
- Cut the adhesive vinyl.
- Weed the vinyl.
- Apply transfer tape.
- Apply the decal to the bag. I placed some canvas inside to help unwrinkle the bag while I was applying the decal. Feel free to use anything hard that you have laying around.
Remember, you’ll want to use your favorite adhesive vinyl and not heat transfer vinyl because a heat press or iron will definitely melt these bags!
Before you go, don’t go too crazy decorating the stadium bags. While no definite approved logo size is stated in the NFL policy, keep your decal size close to the logo size shown in their illustrations. (Photo credit: nfl.com)
Don’t forget: it’s not okay to infringe NFL trademarks while creating these bags.

I would like to know if you know where I could buy just the plain clear stadium bags? I would like to add them to my vinyl business! Thanks
