For small business owners that are active on Facebook, you should list your small business as your job in your personal profile. While I know that some Cutting for Business readers have already done this, there are many that haven’t!
Why would you want to list your business as your job?
Because anytime someone clicks on your profile, they will see a link to your Facebook business page. Even if your Silhouette Cameo or Cricut business is only a small side job, or you work another full time job, you can still advertise it by listing it on your personal Facebook profile.
Who will be able to see your business on your personal profile?
You can change the privacy setting to allow whomever you’d like to be able to see your work. I recommend leaving the setting at “Public”. This means that anyone that visits your profile will see the link to your business Facebook page, even if you are not friends with them.
- From your personal Facebook profile, click “About”.
- Click “Work and Education” on the left hand side, then “Add a workplace”.
- Fill in the information and choose a privacy setting.
- That’s it! Your small business page is now linked on your personal Facebook profile page. Sit back and enjoy a little extra (free!) advertising.
