Happy 2016! I hope you had a wonderful, restful winter break! Now, it’s time to get back to business. Today I wanted to share the 2016 Pantone Color of the Year which have been announced as Rose Quartz (PANTONE 13-1520) and Serenity (PANTONE 15-3919). Rose Quartz is a pastel rose color; while Serenity is a light shade of blue. If you aren’t familiar with Pantone; or aren’t sure why these colors are important to Silhouette Cameo or Cricut small business owners – read on.

Who is Pantone?

Pantone is a global leader in the color industry. They consult with large brands, fashion designers, beauty supply manufacturers, and many more to help them plan their product lines each year.

Why Is Pantone Important?

You’ll find that Pantone’s Color of the Year will show up on fashion runways, products in your favorite retailers, graphic design, interior design, and more. In short, their color experts help set trends throughout the year.

How Can Silhouette or Cricut Business Owners Incorporate the Colors of the Year in Their Businesses?

Consider using Rose Quartz or Serenity in your blank products like apparel, home decor, or paper products. If you can’t incorporate the colors into your products, use them in your advertising, product photography backgrounds, or branding.

If you have a few minutes, read the full press release from Pantone here. This is the first year that there have been two colors, and they give reasoning behind why the colors were chosen and the thoughts and emotions felt by consumers about the colors. Do you like this year’s color choices? Will you use them in your products? Leave a comment and share your thoughts.
