A Few Other Things

Before you head to create your own Facebook Shop, here are a few odds and ends:

  • From the ‘Overview’ screen, under ‘Sales Channels’ you can put your shop on Instagram and Facebook Marketplace.
  • Under ‘Promotions’, the marketing list gives you an option to allow customers to subscribe to your list. You can download subscribers from this section as well.
  • Under ‘Education’, you can get help and reach out to the Support team for account related issues.

When you have a few minutes, I recommend clicking around and exploring.

This is a great resource, thank you!! I've been wanting to open an Etsy shop but have been stuck on fees. Is there any way I can take payments with other methods, in addition to PayPal? For example Venmo or Chase QuickPay

No, not at this time.

Well, it apparently isn't available in Baltimore, Maryland. When I clicked on "facebook.com/yourfacebookpagename/shop" I got an error 404 message. The page I have set up for my business to go along with my Etsy shop does nothing and even paying to "boost" posts is ineffective. I just don't understand how people manage to sell through FB.

April, It's available in the USA. You'd need to substitute facebook.com/yourfacebookpagename/shop for the name of your page. For example, facebook.com/cuttingforbusiness/shop.

On mine, I had to go to the page at business.facebook.com/pagename then Publishing Tools, Edit Page, and then add a Shop tab. The other method just gave an error.

If this is available in my area, can I add the shop feature to my existing Facebook business page? If I add it, is there an option that allows me to cancel/close the shop feature? Thanks!

Christine

Yes, you would add the shop to your existing page and you can close the shop if you no longer wish to have it.

I already have a Facebook page for my business but it doesn't have the shop feature added on. Is there a way I can add this without making a new page and loosing all of my followers?

Where are you located? Facebook shops are available in many areas. The availability is based on your location. Opening a new page likely won't add the availability.
