I’ve talked niches several times before on the Cutting for Business blog. Put simply, a niche is your specialty. This is the thing that you sell with your Silhouette Cameo or Cricut. You are great at making items in your niche, they sell well, and you’ve built your business around these products. If you’re new to selling with your Silhouette or Cricut, deciding on a niche is necessary. Before you decide on your niche, I’m sharing the most overcrowded niches today.
Top 4 Overcrowded Silhouette and Cricut Niches
- Planner Stickers – On an Etsy search for “planner stickers”, we find over 244,000 listings already there. If you are planning to break into this niche, you’ve got a way to go to get to the top pages.
- SVG Cut Files – A quick search on Etsy for “SVG Cut Files” brings up over 91,000 cut file listings. I’d say that if you want to break into this crowded niche, you must have unique designs unlike others on the market already.
- Monogram Decals – On Etsy, there are over 72,000 listings for “monogram decal”. Hard to compete with those already established!
- Tumblers – A quick search of Etsy for “custom tumbler” brings up about 32,000 listings. That’s a lot of competition.
Moral of today’s post? Think outside the proverbial “box”. The most successful Silhouette and Cricut businesses I come across are the ones that are offering unique products or services. Don’t be afraid to be different – it’s quite profitable!
